Help System Conventions (Glossary)

This CPS Online Help System uses Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) to format and display information, making extensive use of hypertext links on key words, phrases, and icons that connect the reader to related topics, glossary terms, and targeted workflows.

Hovering over a hypertext link, a button, or an in-line icon provides a “quick note” of information. In the case of buttons and links, clicking them then launches the external Help window, with a more detailed version of the link’s “quick note”.

	Click the Keystone button near the top of certain Help topics, to link to a high-level Keystone Concept topic.
	Click the Satellite Tutorial button near the top of certain Help topics, to link to a high-level “Satellite View” Tutorial.
	Click the Tutorial button near the top of certain Help topics, to link to a detailed software-simulation-type Tutorial.
	Click the "Menu" button near the top of certain Help topics, to jump-to the appropriate Help System menu.
referenced Conventional System (Hover-on tips)	Hover-on the yellow in-line "reference" icon, this pop-up text indicates how key codeplug features are referenced to (selected by) other features. The hypertext link (in blue) also allows you to hover-on or jump-to the generic "referenced" topic.
(Hover-on tips)	Hover-on these in-line icons to be notified as to the type of information portrayed in the current sentence: "Radio-User Benefit" or "Radio-User Impact". These quick reference tips help you to more quickly qualify and digest help content.

(Hover-on tips)	Hover-on these in-line icons to be informed as to when a radio-user control (button, switch, and / or menu-selection must be CPS-programmed for that feature to be available to the radio-user.
	In the Help's ergonomic-controls selection tables, these Hover-on icons further describe when a programmable selection applies only to a specific radio type and / or dispatch type.

Running down the left margin of the Help topics are graphical images used to organize the Help content into information types. Typically, these information types are visually distinguished from the rest of the text using tables.

	Indicates that what follows is a general description of a field or feature, as well as indicating whether that field / feature applies to Mobiles or Portables, or both Mobiles and Portables (as in this example).
	Indicates that what follows is a description that helps you better understand the entire high-level view of the tool or feature, and also indicates whether the feature applies to Mobiles, or Portables, or both Mobiles and Portables (as in this example).
	Designates a column header for a list of links to all CPS features/fields that are "New or "Modi" (Modified) due to the feature level (Keystone Concept) topic.
	Indicates that what follows is a description that helps you better understand where the current CPS field fits into the overall Workflow strategy of the parent feature.
OR	Indicates special information that you should take note of, such as related fields, as it may affect what you do.
OR	Indicates something that is key to understanding the feature or successfully programming the relevant field(s).
OR	Draws special attention to critical information or conditions that could prevent you from programming the relevant field(s), or may even render some aspect of the radio inoperable.
	Indicates that what follows is a step-by-step procedure for enabling the relevant feature.
	Indicates that what follows is a list of all possible field selections and their definitions.
	Indicates that what follows explains how to allow CPS-user access to the relevant field.
	Indicates that what follows explains the necessary conditions under which to the relevant field applies.

On the Help System's Home Page, several buttons link to Menus that in turn provide access to the Tutorials and high-level Help topics.

	Click this button to access the Tutorials Menu, which provides links to the high-level “Satellite View” Tutorials and detailed software-simulation-type Tutorials.

	Click this button to access the CPS Tools Menu, which provides links to Help topics that cover various CPS Upgrade, Security, and Productivity Tools.
